The Galapagos Conservancy invites you to submit your favorite Galapagos photos for its 2013 Galapagos Conservancy calendar.
Got a great Galapagos photo? Support the Galapagos Conservancy by submitting it to the nonprofit’s annual calendar photo contest, open for submissions through August 15, 2012. Staff and close supporters of Galapagos Conservancy will choose 12 winning photographs to be included in the 2013 calendar. One photo will be chosen as the overall “winning photo” and will be featured on the cover of the 2013 calendar and in Galapagos Conservancy web and marketing materials.
25-35 additional photos will be selected to appear as small details in the empty spaces of the monthly grids of the calendar.
HOW TO WIN?
Galapagos Conservancy wants to showcase the biodiversity of Galapagos, so think nature with your photos. While popular sea lions and marine iguanas might land you a spot, they are particularly hoping to receive submissions depicting Galapagos’ other living treasures, both on land and under water. Scenery shots are also welcome.
Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence and composition. Thought will also be given to selecting photos that will help create a calendar filled with a variety of Galapagos subjects.
Note that you must be a Galapagos Conservancy member to enter. The minimum annual Galapagos Conservancy membership level is $25, a small price to pay for a great cause. If you have traveled to the Galapagos with AdventureSmith Explorations, and made the optional contribution at final payment, then you are a member already.
Full submission requirements and additional info.
Galapagos 2013 Calendars will be made available for pre-order in September 2012. Best of luck to you and your Galapagos photos!
